Most mortgage calculators are local: written in the local language, covering only one country, and often gating rates behind a broker form. RateNomad is in English, covers multiple EU countries in one view, and shows live commercial lender rates without requiring a phone call.

Yes. In Germany, foreign buyers typically need a 20% down payment and competitive rates are available post-ECB cuts. In the UK, non-resident mortgages are offered by select lenders, with minimum down payments around 25%. In Poland, foreign buyers can borrow at 20% down, with average loan sizes up 15.9% year over year.

RateNomad pulls live data from the European Central Bank (ECB), the Bank of England (BoE), and a panel of commercial lenders in each market. Rates are updated weekly — not last year's averages.
